I am often asked how did you choose the name:"Bears Love Art." I could say it's my fascination with bears and that would be true. When I first began selling cards I was designing mohair bears and had written a couple of stories about bears. The drawings I used for my cards often had a bear and child in each of them. At that time I was still circling the issue of whether to paint full time. That was a desire of my heart since childhood. But would my art sell?

Through a series of very difficult life-changing circumstances I finally came to the end of trying to determine the direction of my life and turned over the control of it to the Author of life. In the process I experienced (and continue to experience) the awesome love of God and I want to pass it on. My way of expressing it is through my art. The way I see it is the way God's word states it : "The heavens are telling the glory of God and their expanse is declaring the work of His hand." (Psalm 19:1).

Who can look at a sunrise or sunset, the majesty of the Sierra, or the human face, and not see the hand of God? When you look in truth through the eyes of your heart you see His graciousness and His glory! My hope and prayer is that somehow in my attempt to express what I feel about God's goodness, mercy and love that you, the viewer, may read a message of God's love for you.
